Red Bull Elektropedia Awards announces the Belgian DJ Top 100.
Before the largest indoor event in Belgium starts, I Love Techno, the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards or RBEA presentation is being held. Artists, organizers, festivals, clubs, artwork designers and respectful people who served in the electronic music are being praised during the ceremony. The RBEA’s are seen as the ‘Oscars’ for the Belgian electronic music industry.
There are already announced 2 new categories: ‘Belgian DJ Top 100′ and ‘Belgian Club Top 50′.
In a reaction to our magazine Ben Van Alboom informs:
“The Red Bull Elektropedia Awards are remaining relatively new, and if you know that the Oscars change their rules each year change, it’s only naturally that we also constantly think about improving our format. We added two categories, Best MC and Best Party Photographer, last year and it’s quite possible that there will come a new category this year. But the most important change is without a doubt that we have turned the 2 categories of Best DJ and Best Club DJ to an annual Belgian DJ Top 100 and Belgian Club Top 50. The first chance was obvious. There are many of good Belgian deejays and in the nomination round, in which a hundred professionals cast their votes, it was the difference between the ten nominees and votes was sometimes very small. The favorites in other categories were usually pretty obvious. We saw the same thing in the club category, where the quantity is less large, but the quality of Belgian clubs remains high.”
More news from the RBEA’s will come from September on, but suggestions are always welcome at
You can find all winners and nominees from 2013 here RBEA’s 2013.
