Saturday the 28th July on Tomorrowland 2018, the day of the KNTXT stage of the Belgian queen of techno, Charlotte de Witte, a report.

The 2de day on Tomorrowland 2018 was pointed out with the KNTXT of our Belgian techno queen, Charlotte de Witte. Yet we started the day with Hazem Beltagui, artist of the Belgian progressive house El Futuro Recordings Music label and The Sound of Egypt. Hazem opted for a deep oriented set, which was an ideal start of Tomorrowland. Both deep house, progressive and also soft trance music was incorporated in his DJ set. Afterwards, we witnessed the start of Paul Thomas, but we went soon to the first Belgian DJ of the day, Maxim Lany. His well-known style, house, tech house and deep house, coloured the DJ set.
A first visit to the KNTXT stage brought us Nastia Reigel which astonishingly chose for a combination of tech house and techno, a nice warming up for the techno stage.
A mandatory visit to the impressive mainstage of Tomorrowland is of course a must for every visitor and where we witnessed a wonderful moment of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano who just brought a tribute to Avicii with the hits ‘Wake Me Up’ and ‘Levels’. Just next to us, a fan got tears in her eyes, which was a tremendous emotional moment at Tomorrowland.
With futuristic mermaids in the visuals, Nervo was announced, and they choose for a pure EDM DJ set.
The time had come to explore the terrain and discover the wonder of the adventurous fairytale festival. Unfortunately, there was no time enough to discover the entire festival, you will need at least 2 days to explore the festival and we went back to the KNTXT stage.
The time had come for the DJ set of, Charlotte de Witte, you know… our pride and the Belgian queen of techno music. Her DJ set was astonishing. Of course it was techno, but with many acid influences and also having room for vocal cuts and spacy breaks. She also took the time to go back in time with classics like ‘First Rebirth’ and ending the set with ‘Universal Nation’. A justified big applause when the sound of Charlotte de Witte stopped and it was clearly that the fanbase of her has grown enormously. Well done Charlotte de Witte, a highlight of Tomorrowland 2018 ánd a first spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 would be well deserved!
We had to go back to the mainstage soon, as there was already a large movement of people started towards the mainstage, and this for the arrival of Mr. A State of Trance, Armin van Buuren. The complete DJ set of Armin was, in short words, a total spectacle. Music, visuals and fireworks hand in hand, wherein he alternated his well known trance music neatly with EDM pieces. We experienced the notable start of the residents, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, but after a long day of walking and techno beats on the KNTXT stage, the fatigue came around the corner.
Special thanks goes out to the First Aid team, for taking care of a wasp sting and the friendly staff at the merchandising (or the official Tomorrowland) shop. Actually, all employees are distributing a pleasant, friendly message full of love every time you make contact.
Like our previous visit to Tomorrowland, the festival was completed with National Radio, Studio Brussels in the car, and the pleasant presenter Jeroen Delodder.
Tomorrowland remains, without any doubt, the best festival in the world. (JL)
