Tomorrowland 2014, Friday 18/07/2014, a first review.
We entered the festival with the tunes of John Digweed, who immediately brought his melodic house beats to the crowd on the Carl Cox-stage. Next on the menu was exploring the site and all stages. Arrived at the main stage we heard Dada Life playing ‘Summer’ by Calvin Harris, perhaps one of the most played tracks on Tomorrowland 2014. The same track was also played a little later by Martin Solveig, who sang in almost all his tracks. In between we visited the enthusiastic Cafeina stage where Joeri and Philip, the La Rocca heroes, left a great impression. We also went to Paul Oakenfold, but didn’t bring his usual trance with him and chose for EDM bombs. The first day ended with the Tomorrowland residents, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, who became extremely popular on their home base. Among the many mushrooms, water lily’s and stages we noted country flags from every corner of the world. While seeing the fireworks we left the festival. The kick off from the adventurous 10th anniversary of Tomorrowland was beautiful. (JL)
