Kompakt presents Weval with the Easier EP.
Weval or the duo coming from The Netherlands, Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers, are releasing a diverse EP on Kompakt. The Easier EP provides deep house, lounge house as well as experimental electronica. The title song, ‘Easier’, works with pads, vocals and a hypnotic arpeggio. ‘Thinking Of’, on the other hand, is sensitive experimental electronica propelled by a breakbeat. The EP begins with, ‘Gimme Some’, which stays calm with a loungy atmosphere. This is clearly, let’s say, ‘something very different’ on the German label Kompakt. (JL)
